Nokia announced a major multi-year extension of its strategic partnership with T-Mobile US to expand and modernize the Un-carrier’s nationwide 5G network. Under the new agreement, Nokia will deploy its AirScale Radio Access Network (RAN) portfolio, including Habrok Massive MIMO radios and Levante Ultra-Performance baseband solutions powered by its ReefShark System-on-Chip technology. This deployment aims to enhance T-Mobile’s network coverage, capacity, and energy efficiency across the United States.

The collaboration will also support T-Mobile’s AI-driven network evolution through advanced virtualized architectures and automation solutions such as Nokia’s MantaRay SON and AutoPilot. Nokia’s technologies will strengthen T-Mobile’s 5G Advanced roadmap, improve operational scalability, and reinforce the operator’s leadership in standalone 5G services. The companies will continue to collaborate closely at T-Mobile’s AI-RAN Innovation Center, further integrating artificial intelligence into the radio access network for enhanced user experiences.

  • Nokia signed a multi-year deal to expand and modernize T-Mobile US’s nationwide 5G network.
  • Nokia will supply its latest AirScale RAN solutions, Habrok Massive MIMO, and Levante Ultra-Performance basebands with ReefShark SoCs.
  • Deployment includes AI-powered MantaRay SON and AutoPilot self-organizing network technologies.
  • Agreement supports T-Mobile’s network evolution into 5G Advanced and future innovations.
  • Builds on Nokia’s long-standing partnership with T-Mobile, whose 5G network covers more than 332 million people.

Ulf Ewaldsson, President of Technology at T-Mobile: “T-Mobile’s nationwide standalone 5G network has solidified our global leadership by delivering tangible benefits to our customers. This new agreement with Nokia will further enhance our current network capabilities as we strengthen our journey supercharged with 5G Advanced.”
