Tarari, a start-up based in San Diego, secured $13.8 million in Series B round financing for its content processors. Tarari’s silicon is used to accelerate XML processing and to accelerate processing in Content Filtering, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, and Compliance systems. Tarari’s acceleration offerings incorporate RSA public key, bulk encryption/decryption with 3DES/DES, message digests with SHA-1, and true Random Number Generation. Tarari will extend this support to other standards such as WS-Security.
Morgan Stanley Venture Partners was the lead second round investor and was joined by all of the first-round investors: Crosspoint Venture Partners, Intel Capital, Miramar Venture Partners and XMLFund.
