TE Connectivity Introduces Cabling for Indoor PONs

TE Connectivity (TE) introduced a new plug-and-play cabling solution for in-door Passive Optical Network (PON) architectures.

The pre-connectorized Optical LAN Solution (OLS) capitalizes takes a single strand of single mode fiber from the data center all the way to an individual desk or user area over distances of up to 12 miles. GPON’s data-encryption capabilities enable a secure information transport system for fiber-to-the-desk (FTTD) solutions.

“Our pre-connectorized, reduced-bend-radius Rapid Fiber cable spool allows for precise on-site payouts of up to 500 feet and eliminates the need for additional components such as splice cases, patch panels, and mounting hardware. The benefit is a super-efficient, more reliable and lower cost GPON solution for our customers,” said Craig Kegerise, product manager for the OLS. http://www.te.com/olsvideo
