Telia has selected Nokia to deploy its cloud-native 5G Standalone (SA) Core across Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, and Lithuania, extending the companies’ long-term collaboration on next-generation mobile networks. The deployment will enhance network scalability and automation, supporting new enterprise and public-sector services while reducing operational complexity across Telia’s regional footprint.
In Finland, Telia will also expand its use of Nokia’s Radio Access Network (RAN) portfolio to boost capacity, coverage, and speed, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability goals. The upgraded 5G SA architecture will deliver lower latency and more consistent performance, enabling AI-driven network automation and new digital services for consumers and industry customers alike.
Nokia currently leads the global 5G SA market, with 127 operator customers and 54 live deployments. Omdia ranks Nokia first for core network capabilities, while Gartner lists the company as a Leader in its 2025 Magic Quadrant for CSP 5G Core Infrastructure.
