XO Communications has selected Transmode’s TM-Series for metro capacity expansion across XO Communications’ nationwide network. The five year contract covers deployment of Transmode’s TM-Series metro DWDM platform as well as training, installation and ongoing technical support. Initial deployments support Gigabit Ethernet and 10G Ethernet connectivity including WDM muxponders and low latency transponders. In addition to supporting XO Communications’ expansion in Ethernet based services, the TM-Series will also support legacy SONET services. Financial terms were not disclosed.
