Trump-Branded MVNO Enters U.S. Market

A new Trump Mobile service is launching promising nationwide 5G. The MVNO is using all three major U.S. carriers for its coverage.

The core offering, called The 47 Plan, costs $47.45/month and includes unlimited talk, text, and data, as well as other features.

Customers can use their existing devices or wait for the “T1 Phone,” a gold-colored Android smartphone that the company claims will be built in the U.S.

Trump Mobile is operated by T1 Mobile LLC under a limited license to use the Trump name. It is not owned or managed by The Trump Organization.

MVNOs Offering 4G and/or 5G Service in the U.S. (Ranked Biggest to Smallest)

  1. TracFone Wireless
    • Subscriber Base: Over 20 million (largest MVNO in the U.S.) 
    • Networks Used: AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon
    • Services: Prepaid plans with 4G LTE and 5G access, operates sub-brands like Straight Talk, Net10, and Simple Mobile.
    • Notes: Acquired by Verizon in 2021 for $6.9 billion. Offers a variety of plans and phones from major manufacturers.
  2. Metro by T-Mobile
    • Subscriber Base: Estimated 18–20 million (owned by T-Mobile) 
    • Networks Used: T-Mobile
    • Services: Prepaid plans with unlimited talk, text, and data, 4G LTE, and 5G access. Includes perks like Google One and Amazon Prime on higher-tier plans. 
    • Notes: Formerly MetroPCS, known for transparent all-in pricing and strong 5G coverage via T-Mobile’s network.
  3. Cricket Wireless
    • Subscriber Base: Estimated 12–15 million (owned by AT&T) 
    • Networks Used: AT&T
    • Services: Prepaid plans with 4G LTE and 5G, unlimited options, and data-only plans. Offers cloud storage and multi-line discounts. 
    • Notes: Popular for value-focused plans and nationwide AT&T 5G coverage.
  4. Boost Mobile
    • Subscriber Base: Estimated 7–9 million 
    • Networks Used: T-Mobile, AT&T
    • Services: Prepaid plans with 4G LTE and 5G, unlimited data options, and international features. 
    • Notes: Transitioned to a major carrier in 2024 but still operates as an MVNO in some contexts. Known for budget-friendly unlimited plans.
  5. Straight Talk
    • Subscriber Base: Estimated 5–8 million (TracFone subsidiary) 
    • Networks Used: AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon
    • Services: Prepaid unlimited plans with 4G LTE and 5G, sold primarily through Walmart.
    • Notes: Offers flexibility with multiple network options and affordable pricing.
  6. Visible
    • Subscriber Base: Estimated 2–3 million 
    • Networks Used: Verizon
    • Services: Unlimited 4G LTE and 5G plans, including Visible+ with premium data and international features. 
    • Notes: Fully digital carrier with no physical stores, owned by Verizon. Known for affordable unlimited plans starting at $25/month.
  7. Mint Mobile
    • Subscriber Base: Estimated 1–2 million 
    • Networks Used: T-Mobile
    • Services: Prepaid plans (3, 6, or 12 months) with 4G LTE and 5G, ranging from 5GB to unlimited. 
    • Notes: Owned by T-Mobile, popular for low-cost plans starting at $15/month and strong 5G coverage.
