Vapor IO has announced a private 5G AI-RAN solution powered by NVIDIA AI Aerial in Las Vegas. This collaboration between Vapor IO and NVIDIA aims to enhance the city’s smart infrastructure capabilities by providing a scalable, low-latency platform for AI applications. Vapor IO’s Zero Gap AI platform brings AI-driven compute power directly to the network’s edge, allowing Las Vegas to support demanding applications like autonomous drones, video analytics, and smart city management systems.

The deployment is set to equip Las Vegas with thousands of cameras and sensors by 2025, dynamically managing workloads between edge data centers. The NVIDIA AI Aerial platform, combined with Vapor IO’s edge infrastructure, enables real-time optimization and data processing, improving efficiency and performance. This project will establish Las Vegas as a hub for private 5G innovation and serve as a model for future smart city deployments worldwide.

NVIDIA AI Aerial’s AI-RAN platform, running on Vapor IO’s edge infrastructure, enables multi-purpose networks capable of supporting private 5G, Open RAN, and future 6G networks. The platform allows telecommunications and cloud providers to quickly deploy AI-ready networks, opening new revenue streams and driving innovation across various industries.

Key Points:

  • First private 5G AI-RAN deployment in Las Vegas using NVIDIA AI Aerial and Vapor IO’s Zero Gap AI platform
  • AI-RAN technology enables real-time optimization for smart city applications, including autonomous drones and video analytics
  • Deployment of thousands of cameras across Las Vegas in 2025
  • Vapor IO’s carrier-neutral, multi-tenant infrastructure simplifies deployment for service providers
  • Demonstration available at MWC 2024
