Vecima Networks has unveiled its new Entra vPON Manager, a cloud-native XGS-PON platform designed to simplify subscriber and service provisioning, while also enabling scalable fiber network deployments. The solution integrates directly with broadband service providers’ (BSPs) back-office systems and features a microservices-based architecture to support both integrated and disaggregated Vecima PON systems. Vecima will demonstrate the platform alongside its Entra EXS1610 All-PON™ Shelf at Fiber Connect and ANGA COM in early June.

Entra vPON Manager includes subscriber lifecycle management, telemetry, and a streamlined web-based interface for simplified network operations. It integrates with the Entra Open Network Ecosystem (ONE), which ensures broad compatibility with third-party optical network terminals (ONTs) and units (ONUs). This open ecosystem approach eliminates vendor lock-in for CPEs and allows operators to select from a growing list of ONT/ONU vendors aligned with global interoperability standards.

The EXS1610 All-PON Shelf is the first supported platform for Entra vPON Manager. It features a 1RU, 16-port temperature-hardened design that supports ITU XGS-PON and IEEE 10G EPON. The device is suited for a wide range of deployment scenarios, including greenfield builds, rural edge-outs, HFC overbuilds, and hub collapses, providing flexibility for network expansion or modernization projects.

  • Entra vPON Manager delivers subscriber management, service provisioning, and telemetry support
  • Cloud-native platform integrates with BSP back-office systems and Vecima’s disaggregated architecture
  • Entra ONE ecosystem enables multi-vendor ONT/ONU support for investment protection
  • EXS1610 supports ITU XGS-PON and IEEE 10G-EPON in a 1RU, 16-port, hardened design
  • Deployable across varied use cases including rural, MDU, and HFC conversion environments

“Vecima’s ‘All-PON’ approach is rooted in our guiding principle of delivering open, flexible, and interoperable solutions that enable our customers to future-proof their access networks and select a PON management solution and ONT vendor of their choice,” said Vijay Raman, Vice President of Product Line Management at Vecima.
