Verizon announced plans to deploy its FiOS fiber network to an additional 48,000 homes in the Portland, Oregon area. More than 8.5 million homes and businesses in parts of 16 states are now passed by Verizon’s all-fiber network, and the company expects the network to pass about 18 million premises by the end of 2010. http://www.verizon.com
