Verizon Vice Chairman and President Lawrence T. Babbio Jr. will retire from the company at the end of Q1 2007. A 41-year veteran of Verizon and its predecessor companies, Babbio is responsible for the Verizon Business and Verizon Telecom business units, and is a member of the Board of Directors of Verizon Wireless.
