Vision Net has deployed the Mountain West region’s first 800 Gbps network as part of a major infrastructure upgrade.

This network expansion leverages Ciena’s 6500 WaveLogic 5 Extreme transceivers and programmable photonics technology, enabling higher capacity while reducing costs and minimizing the need for signal regeneration. The enhanced connectivity between Vision Net’s two data centers in Billings, MT, improves cloud service performance and positions the company to meet growing demand for high-speed connectivity.Ciena’s Navigator Network Control Suite, with Liquid Spectrum software, enables dynamic scaling of line rates, ensuring Vision Net can adapt to evolving customer needs.

The Phase 1 upgrade will be followed by further expansion into Bozeman, MT, by spring 2025. Ciena also supported Vision Net with design, staging, deployment, and testing services to accelerate implementation and ensure optimal network performance. This strategic investment reinforces Vision Net’s commitment to providing cutting-edge network solutions and driving regional economic growth.
