Visual Networks introduced a modular version of its performance management platform enabling companies to purchase UpTime Select capabilities all at once, or one module at a time. Visual UpTime Select includes new core capabilities, the unbundling of proven UpTime functionality into modular software components, and flexible purchasing options, including “Pay Per View” pricing. New core capabilities include a Service Summary application, Web-based management capabilities, active troubleshooting views, auto discovery of protocols, an enhanced reporting module and an integration module providing interfaces to third-party reporting packages and manager of manager platforms such as HP OpenView and Aprisma SPECTRUM.
Separately, Visual Networks announced the availability of an integrated solution combining the Visual UpTime Select solution with the Aprisma SPECTRUM product. In addition, Visual Networks also announced that J.M. Huber Corporation is using its Visual UpTime performance management solution to optimize bandwidth for its migration to an IP-based MPLS network.
