Tejas Networks has signed a three-year agreement with Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) to supply its TJ1400 and TJ1600 packet and optical transmission products. The collaboration aims to strengthen VIL’s backhaul capacity as it ramps up 4G and 5G network deployments across India. These products are expected to enhance network performance and support increasing bandwidth demands.

Vodafone Idea’s Chief Technology Officer, Jagbir Singh, highlighted the importance of a scalable and robust backhaul to manage the surge in data traffic and enable future-ready infrastructure. Tejas Networks, a Tata Group company, will leverage its portfolio to meet these demands. The partnership aligns with VIL’s strategy to deliver a high-quality service experience while advancing its network transformation.

Key Points:

• Contract Duration: Three years.

• Technology Supplied: TJ1400 and TJ1600 packet and optical transmission products.

• Objective: Expand backhaul capacity for 4G and 5G networks across India.

• Supplier Profile: Tejas Networks operates in over 75 countries and is majority-owned by Tata Group’s Panatone Finvest Ltd.

“As VIL accelerates its pan-India 4G and 5G rollouts, it is critical to upgrade our backhaul network to be scalable, robust, and future-ready to efficiently manage the expected growth in data traffic and rising bandwidth demands,” said Jagbir Singh, CTO of Vodafone Idea Limited.
