The WiMedia Alliance has certified an additional seven platforms on its Ultra- Wideband (UWB) Common Radio Platform. These include platforms from Artimi, LucidPort Technology, NEC Electronics, and NXP Semiconductors — bring the total number of WiMedia platform certifications to 19, enabling the continued wide-scale development of WiMedia-based end-user products for the CE, PC and mobile device markets.
WiMedia Certification is awarded to platforms that successfully complete all phases of the Alliance’s rigorous interoperability testing program. This designation signifies compliance with the Alliance’s international UWB standards (ISO/IEC 26907 and 26908) and provides assurance to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original device manufacturers (ODMs) that WiMedia Certified platforms will perform with a high level of interoperability, and will coexist with other nearby WiMedia-based devices.
