China’s ZTE Corporation reported significant growth in the global WiMAX market in 2008. According to a report entitled ‘Global WiMAX Market, Takes off in 2009’ released by In-Stat, ZTE claimed 15 out of the 94 new WiMAX 16e commercial networks deployed last year. The company said it performed well in high-end markets including the United States and Western Europe.
As of November 2008, ZTE has deployed more than 30 WiMAX 16e networks in Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
