AST SpaceMobile Delivers Business Update

AST SpaceMobile shared an update for Q3 2024, highlighting significant strides in satellite deployment, strategic partnerships, and financial positioning. The successful initial operations of five BlueBird satellites mark a milestone for AST, setting the stage for beta service with major U.S. telecoms AT&T and Verizon. With all satellites fully unfolded by late October, AST SpaceMobile is focusing on integrating its technology with partner networks, reinforcing its vision for global, uninterrupted cellular coverage.

Beyond technical advancements, AST has expanded its reach in government applications, securing three new contract awards with the U.S. Government. The company’s selection by the Space Development Agency for the HALO program positions it as a competitive prime contractor for low Earth orbit solutions, broadening its opportunities within the defense sector. Financially, AST SpaceMobile continues to strengthen its cash reserves through warrant redemptions and commercial prepayments, underscoring its commitment to non-dilutive funding avenues to support growth.

Key Highlights:

• BlueBird Satellites in Operation: Initial operations of the first five BlueBird satellites are underway, with a Special Temporary Authority (STA) request filed to start beta service with AT&T and Verizon.

• Satellite Unfolding Completed: All five BlueBird satellites were successfully unfolded by late October, achieving a critical post-launch objective.

• Launch Capacity Secured: Agreements with Blue Origin and other providers will support launches for up to 60 Block 2 BlueBird satellites through 2025-2026.

• Technology Milestone: AST5000 ASIC chip validation is complete; the new chip, combined with Block 2 satellites, promises speeds up to 120 Mbps for data-rich applications.

• Government Contracts: Three new U.S. Government contracts awarded, enhancing AST’s in-orbit capabilities and supporting dual-use technology initiatives.

• Financial Position: $518.9 million in cash, bolstered by warrant redemption and proactive cost management strategies.
