Akamai’s Q3 Revenue Rises 15% YoY to $396 Million

Akamai posted Q3 revenue of $396 million, a 15% increase over third quarter 2012 revenue of $345 million, or up 18% adjusted for the Advertising Decision Solutions (ADS) divestiture. Net income (GAAP) was $80 million, or $0.44 per diluted share, a 29% increase from the prior quarter’s GAAP net income of $62 million, or $0.34 per diluted share, and a 65% increase over third quarter 2012 GAAP net income of $48 million, or $0.27 per diluted share.

“Akamai’s strong third quarter and year-to-date financial performance highlights our ability to deliver innovative solutions to leading enterprises globally,” said Tom Leighton, CEO of Akamai.  “We intend to continue to invest in the business, while also effectively managing the cost and efficiency of our network, to help our customers capitalize on the opportunities enabled by the hyperconnected world.”
