China’s Ministry of Information Industry’s (MII) request to Chinese telecommunications operators to bid on 3.5GHz spectrum license grants in 27 provinces and autonomous regions. This phase of spectrum license grants includes all areas of China not covered in the first two phases. Bids are being taken until April 2.
Vyyo, a supplier of broadband access equipment, expects MII’s move to be a catalyst for telecom operators to offer wireless broadband access, both voice and data, to China’s growing population.
