Comcast, Samsung and Ucentric to Conduct Multi-TV DVR Trial

Comcast will begin testing Multi-TV DVR (Digital Video Recording) using Samsung’s digital set top boxes and Ucentric’s home media networking software. TV viewers will be able to select and control individual video recordings from a single in-home recording library shared among multiple television sets. Viewers would also be able to pause a program in one room and pick it up at exactly the same scene on a TV in another room. Cable operators such as Comcast would also have the ability to offer additional feature-rich services to the TVs, including a music jukebox, photo album, and other potential revenue generating services.
