Ericsson Launches AI-Driven OSS/BSS

Ericsson introduced a major evolution of its OSS/BSS portfolio aimed at accelerating the shift to AI-powered, autonomous networks for communications service providers (CSPs). The company unveiled a new Telco DataOps Platform, Intelligent IT Suite, and Ericsson Charging and Billing Evolved, along with enhancements to its Service Orchestration and Assurance and AI-enabled Core Commerce. Ericsson also announced more than 20 cloud-native AI and Gen-AI applications now embedded across its OSS/BSS stack, alongside the launch of its new Gen-AI Lab and Telco Agentic AI Studio, both powered by Amazon Bedrock.

The expanded portfolio reflects Ericsson’s deep experience supporting more than 300 CSPs worldwide and responds to the increasing market demand for OSS/BSS modernization. The upgrades embed AI, intent-based automation, and Agentic AI across every domain of CSP operations—from data management and service orchestration to real-time monetization and customer engagement. The goal: empower operators to accelerate innovation cycles, simplify service delivery, and unlock new revenue opportunities while progressing toward fully autonomous networks.

A key pillar of this update is the new Telco DataOps Platform, which unifies data collection, processing, and governance to enable more effective AI-driven automation. The Intelligent IT Suite introduces an end-to-end cloud-native architecture for real-time agility at telco scale. The new Ericsson Charging and Billing Evolved platform supports monetization of enterprise services and partner-led growth through advanced AI. Upgraded Service Orchestration leverages Agentic AI to deploy services aligned with CSP business goals, while AI-enabled Core Commerce streamlines offer creation and customer engagement.

Ericsson’s expanded AI capabilities now include over 20 cloud-native AI and Gen-AI applications—such as the Product Configuration Assistant, Network Insights Assistant, Operations Intelligent Assistant, and CPQ Assistant—built on its Telco IT AI Engine, which aligns with TM Forum and 3GPP standards. These capabilities will help CSPs automate complex tasks, improve decision-making, and enhance service agility. Meanwhile, the new Telco Agentic AI Studio offers an environment to rapidly develop and deploy tailored Gen-AI solutions, supporting cloud-agnostic execution and hybrid environments.

Through its Gen-AI Lab—launched in collaboration with AWS—Ericsson will also help CSPs accelerate innovation in OSS/BSS. Grameenphone is the first CSP to use the lab, creating an Agentic-AI solution to automate product catalog migration. In parallel, Orange Group selected Ericsson’s enhanced Service Orchestration and Assurance platform to advance its autonomous network strategy.

“AI is a non-negotiable tool for telecom companies, serving as a catalyst for transformation and innovation,” said Mats Karlsson, Head of Solution Area Business and Operations Support Systems, Ericsson. “With our full-portfolio AI capabilities, we can unlock superior decision-making and transformative insights, paving the way for network autonomy while upholding data privacy and security.”
