ICC Enters Market for SMB Networking

International Communications Corporation (ICC), a start-up based in Riverside, California, made its launch into the market for networking equipment in small and medium-sized businesses with up to 500 employees. The company has set its sights on “how packets are processed in the network” and not merely connectivity.

ICC’s icXchange family of connectivity solutions includes WLAN mobility, Ethernet switches, Unified Communication, business gateways, and technology partnerships for video assurance technology. The company said it is pursuing technologically-differentiated solutions aimed at optimizing content delivery. Its initial Mobility Wireless Controller, for instance, leverages advanced QoS remarking between IEEE802.11e and both IEEE802.1p and DiffServ to allow end-to-end quality-of-service connectivity path for any network traffic. ICC will also use integrated bandwidth shaping, content tagging and special policing in its WLAN solution to offer high performance in its line of 802.11n access points. The initial Ethernet switches include 26- and 50-port Layer-2 Gigabit products, some with PoE capabilities.

“Our focus is to transform connectivity networks into intelligent environments that more aggressively direct communication traffic and create efficiency and sustainability in SMB and small enterprise networks up to 500 users,? stated Keith Alexis, chief executive officer at ICC.

ICC is pursuing a reseller distribution strategy in the U.S. and Canada. ICC will also launch in EMEA and Asia in early 2012.
