Sprint Teams with MobileAccess for In-Building, Multi-Service Wireless

Sprint is working with MobileAccess to deliver a universal infrastructure for enterprise-wide access to wireless voice and data applications. Specifically, Sprint is leveraging the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network platform to provide pervasive, multi-service in-building and campus-wide wireless coverage.
An example of a business that is benefiting from the joint solution is Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach, California. Sprint is using the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network to provide multi-service wireless coverage throughout the 511-bed acute care, not-for-profit hospital. With this deployment, Sprint offers reliable, facility-wide access to the full range of wireless offerings available on its Nationwide Sprint PCS Network and Nextel National Network, using a multi-service infrastructure. Hoag can support voice and data communications over secure cellular, as well as WiFi and using telemetry infrastructure that requires only one installation.

  • MobileAccess will support WiMAX with its in-building universal wireless platform. The aims to change the economics of WiMAX and spur early adoption by providing the highest business-quality indoor WiMAX performance and reducing deployment costs by up to 50%, according to the Vienna, Virginia-based company.
  • The in-building WiMAX will be supported on the MobileAccess platform by means of a new module that plugs into existing systems.
