Starent Networks (Nasdaq:STAR), which supplies infrastructure solutions to mobile operators, has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission a registration statement for the offering of shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering. The number of shares of common stock to be sold in the proposed offering has not yet been determined, but Starent Networks currently expects that the offering will consist of an aggregate of 8,000,000 shares, of which approximately 4,000,000 shares are expected to be offered by Starent Networks and approximately 4,000,000 shares are expected to be offered by certain of its stockholders.
Starent Networks also currently expects to grant an option to the underwriters to purchase approximately up to an additional 1,200,000 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any.
