In conjunction with NTT Communications’ extension of IPv6 service worldwide, Verio began offering pre-commercial IPv6 service in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and Washington D.C. NTT Communications and Verio envision IPv4/IPv6 dual stack service delivery on the NTT/VERIO Global IP Network during the companies’ commercial launch scheduled for Q4 2003. Verio noted that the Department of Defense has decided to implement IPv6 to facilitate integration of the essential elements of its Global Information Grid, including sensors, weapons, platforms, information and people.
