Verizon rolled out a 5.8 Ghz cordless phone featuring a color-touch screen, DSL modem, 802.11g wireless router and other advanced features. Verizon One is described as a “communications command center” designed to help consumers manage all of their communications needs and devices.

Verizon One’s features include visual call logs; one-touch dialing from Verizon SuperPages search results (including access to maps and driving directions); on-screen memo pad; personal calendar; address book entry directly from call logs and online directory assistance; and easily accessed updates on local weather, news, sports, stocks and entertainment highlights (such as movie listings and show times). Customers can customize the content based upon their interests and tailor the touch screen display with their personal photos, etc.

The unit can be used with Verizon’s iobi service, which would add a network-based feature set including one-touch dialing, visual voice mail, scheduled call-forwarding, and real-time call management.

Customers who order Verizon One when they sign up for a one-year DSL contract will receive an immediate $50 discount off of the $199.95 retail price. Customers are also required to pay for shipping.
