Mavenir and Acme Packet Partner on Voice+Messaging over 3G, 4G

Mavenir Systems, a developer of mobile convergence solutions, and Acme Packet announced a reseller agreement targeted at interactive communication services over 2G, 3G and IP-based 4G mobile broadband access networks.

The agreement enables Mavenir to combine its Converged Voice and Messaging solutions with Acme Packet’s Net-Net session border controllers (SBCs) to significantly reduce the development costs, time-to-market and time-to-revenue for voice, mobility and rich communications services delivered over fixed and mobile broadband networks.

Specifically, Mavenir’s Mobile VoIP solution extends Mobile Switching Center (MSC) voice, intelligent network (IN) and Short Message Service (SMS), as IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) application servers to offer services consistently across multiple broadband access domains. In addition, Mavenir’s Rich Communications Suite (RCS) solution, combined with Acme Packet’s Proxy Call Session Control Function (P-CSCF) solution, allows service providers to build global mobile social networks around a powerful set of building blocks–subscriber management, presence, instant messaging, web 2.0 services aggregation and media sharing.

The companies said their combined solution is currently supporting two Tier 1 mobile service provider customers in Europe and North America.
