Telstra and Nokia Unlock Network APIs for Developer Ecosystem

Telstra and Nokia are partnering to provide developers with secure access to Telstra’s advanced network APIs through Nokia’s Network as Code platform. The collaboration, centered at Telstra’s muru-D Labs innovation hub, aims to accelerate the creation of new applications for enterprise and industry use cases. Developers will gain access to a mix of live and simulated APIs, enabling them to test and deploy network-aware applications more easily.

The initiative will focus on real-world applications such as network traffic management during large events, improved network observability, and critical service prioritization. The effort will also explore Fixed Network use cases through Nokia’s service orchestration software already deployed at Telstra. A local hackathon is planned for later this year to further engage developers with Telstra’s Network as a Product strategy.

Nokia’s Network as Code platform, which now has more than 50 ecosystem partners globally, enables API-driven innovation across mobile and fixed networks. By aligning with CAMARA and GSMA Open Gateway APIs, the partnership supports broader interoperability and programmability goals for the telecommunications industry.

“We’re radically innovating at the core of our business and pushing the boundaries of our network leadership, so that our customers can get the connectivity they need in a changing environment. This new collaboration with Nokia is another way we are testing and learning how the power of the network can unlock new value in the tech ecosystem,” said Kim Krogh Andersen, Group Executive Product & Technology at Telstra.
